Mediaedge:cia global revamp

Bosses at Mediaedge:cia have conducted a shake up of senior management roles to free up time for the agency’s top executive to concentrate on global responsibilities.

Mark Austin, chief executive of the group’s Asia Pacific wing (pictured), will take on a role of chairman for its Europe, Middle East and Africa division, giving worldwide chief executive Mainardo de Nardis responsibility for solely global issues.

Until now de Mardis has assumed responsibility for the EMEA patch, working alongside EMEA chief executive Dominic Grainger.

Austin and Grainger will now form the senior management team for EMEA, while the Asis Pacific division will be headed by MindShare South Asia and GroupM India chief executive, Andre Nair.

Austin said: “After more than 8 years developing our business in Asia Pacific I feel it’s time for a new challenge.

“It has been a tremendously fun, stimulating, sometimes frustrating and always challenging time.

"MEC is in an extremely healthy state commercially and culturally and the business is on the verge of further substantial growth.

“Now is a good time to handover to new management who will bring fresh energy and passion to our clients, people and the business overall and take us to the next stage of success.
