The new tool -- called -- claims to capture social engagement and web metrics at the same time, giving publishers and bloggers a clearer picture of how many hits they are receiving as well as the level of conversation generated by blog posts shared on Facebook and Twitter.
PostRank Analytics incorporates Google Analytics data, but also adds pageviews, Twitter followers and an "engagement score" for the previous day. Activity can be viewed over time -- by week, month or quarter.
Unlike traditional web traffic tools, the system also allows users to see total page views for blogs, unique visitors, bounce rate and the average time spent on the post for each entry.
Users can also see how many people have tweeted about the post, how many comments it received, and if there are any FriendFeed or Reddit reactions, and whether it was re-posted on Tumblr.
One of the advantages of PostRank Analytics is that it attempts to compare raw traffic metrics against the level of social engagement.
So, for example, a user could determine that content has low traffic, but a high engagement value and find out what type of posts work well on different social networks.
