Warner will oversee all of McCann London’s integrated and creative technology work and report to the joint chief creative officers, Rob Doubal and Laurence Thomson. Warner will also sit on McCann London’s board.

Thomson said: "Chad represents the new breed of digital innovation thinkers aiming to achieve the seemingly impossible. We were drawn to his ability to create bold work and his charm."

At CHI & Partners, Warner worked on accounts including TalkTalk, for which he created user-generated idents for The X Factor. He was also part of the team behind the latest Lexus spot, "slide", that features a hoverboard.

Warner joined CHI & Partners in 2011 and was one of the first hires made by Jonathan Burley, the agency’s executive creative director. Burley moved from Leo Burnett in 2010.

Before that, Warner was the executive creative director at Rapp London. He relocated from the direct agency’s New York office in 2008.

Warner said: "My focus is to help build an agency model that instinctively adapts to an ever-changing culture. The moment I met Lol, Rob and Zaid [Al-Zaidy, the chief executive], it was clear that McCann was the place to continue that work."
