The Burton-on-Trent-based brewery, celebrating its 175 year anniversary this year, is now the official beer of nine top cricket clubs and test grounds. The deal includes pouring rights at all cricket matches, as well as ground branding and the use of players for promotional activities.

Peter Jackson, marketing director at Marston's, said: ‘It's the quintessential Englishness of both the game and Marston's beer that make this partnership a perfect match as we invest more with our brands in the North of England.'

Elsewhere, Old Speckled Hen today announced a sponsorship deal with Northants County Cricket Club.
