MarketingFile to sell Experian's national business data

LONDON - MarketingFile has licensed Experian's National Business Database and will sell it through its MarketingFile.com website, with no minimum quantity restrictions.

The agreement enables MarketingFiles's 70,000-plus users to enter their precise targeting selections against the National Business Database, obtain an instant count of the number of prospects matching their criteria, and then purchase their list. This is immediately downloadable for use in direct mail or telemarketing campaigns.

MarketingFile managing director David Lightning said: "The ability to select across more than 2m businesses by either Yell or Thomson classifications will undoubtedly make this database one of our most popular."

The agreement also extends to Experian files containing SOHO businesses, new opportunities data and other unique data selections. MarketingFile will make these available at a later date.

Experian claims that the National Business Database has the lowest goneaway rates in the market, with rates at less than half the industry average of 5%.

It offers more than 4.2m accurate business records and 2.1m mailable business records from sources including Yellow Pages, Thomson, Experian and Companies House. It was one of the first databases to achieve DMA Business List Audit recognition.
