Marketing Store parts with MD as it restructures

LONDON – The Marketing Store is restructuring its management team with the loss of its London managing director, Amanda Morrissey, following the decision by the integrated agency to combine the UK and European team as one unit.

The move comes on the back of several new business wins, yet to be disclosed, including £2.5m in billings in August.

The agency said that its experiment with a separate European management layer "did not make sense" for the future.

The new executive management team will consist of Catherine Gale, CEO, Charles Croft, chief operating officer, Ross MacDonald, planning director, Shelford Chandler, creative director with Lisa Bonnet promoted to the role of associate director.

In April the group appointed Gale, the former Draft and Grey Direct managing director as CEO for Europe.

Gale said the company had found that a centralised management team across the Leeds, London and Birmingham offices is the most appropriate formula and it is looking to increase the flexibility of the business.

"The approach we have been developing succeeds in combining the benefits of a regional network with a single-team structure. Working as an integrated team led by the European management board is the way forward for us, " Gale said.

The Marketing Store has also announced it is looking to appoint a new European business development director as well as a number of other senior appointments.
