Manchester podcast series to feature City's legends

LONDON - Independent music company All Out Media is to run a series of six Manchester-themed podcasts that will focus on the city's musical credentials, featuring Mike Joyce, the former Smiths drummer, and New Order bassist Peter Hook.

The podcast , which will be presented by a personality from the Manchester music community, will aim to highlight the city's rich musical heritage, which includes The Buzzcocks, Happy Mondays, The Smiths, New Order and Oasis.

The series, which began on February 12, has been produced by Elizabeth Alker at All Out Media Productions, and will feature a new podcast every three weeks.

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey, Mike Joyce and Peter Hook have so far been confirmed for the podcast series so far.

Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, said: "We hope that the music podcast will be the first of many themed podcasts that will serve to make Manchester even more inspiring and accessible to both new and existing visitors."

All Out Media, which is based in Manchester, also handles production for BBC' radio news features, including Radio Five Live, Radio 4 and BBC World Service.
