Majid Nagra's exit from The Apprentice attracts 7.4m viewers

LONDON - BBC One's 'The Apprentice' won the primetime slot last night with 7.4m viewers tuning in to see Sir Alan Sugar fire Majid Nagra, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The third show in the series, which saw the teams attempting to design and market a piece of home fitness equipment, pulled in 7.4m viewers and a 30.9% share of the 9pm-10pm audience.

'Grand Designs' came in second in the ratings battle with 2.6m viewers and a 10.7% share of the audience. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 2.8m viewers.

Last night's instalment saw presenter Kevin McCloud following the building of a big family house in the suburbs of Brighton, which he was uncharacteristically positive about.

ITV1's 'Superhuman: World's Tallest Children' documentary, featuring a 7ft 4in 13-year-old boy and the bespoke supersized home of Britain's tallest family, drew 2.4m viewers and a 10% share of the audience.

The programme explored how children cope with towering over their parents and the effects their height has on their health.

'Alan Whicker's Journey of a Lifetime', which saw Whicker tracking down a Hollywood plastic surgeon and his favourite patient - his wife, attracted 1.5m viewers and a 6.3% share of the audience.

Five's 'Extraordinary People: The World's Heaviest Man Gets Married' documentary, revisiting morbidly obese Mexican Manuel Uribe as he prepared for his wedding day, netted 1m viewers and a 4.1% share of the audience.
