LoveFilm and Momentum tie-up to offer Catfish exclusive

LoveFilm, the film subscription service, has partnered with Momentum Pictures to exclusively preview the documentary film 'Catfish' over the internet and in 40 cinemas in the UK, ahead of its launch.

LoveFilm is selecting 250 of its members to watch the documentary in their own homes, via LoveFilm.com, while it is simultaneously screened in cinemas on 14 December, ahead of its UK cinema release on 17 December.

The audience will be invited to take part in an interactive question-and-answer session following the event, via a webchat and Twitter stream.

All LoveFilm members will be given an exclusive two-week period to rent 'Catfish' on DVD from 27 December.

LoveFilm has created a microsite to host film content in the lead-up to the event. It has also created a run of 400,000 'Catfish' branded rental envelopes to send out to its customers.

LoveFilm launched six years ago and in March 2010 rolled out its digital player, allowing users to stream films to their TV, PC or PlayStation 3. It now has 1.4 million members in Europe.

In August, LoveFilm landed a major UK digital distribution deal (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer), to open up its film archives on the Lovefilm player
