More than 15,000 shrubs, ferns, ornamental grasses and hardy perennials have been planted on the wall, which will be back-lit in the LG Arena colours.
"We wanted to create a real wow factor for the new arena entrance as the arrival is an important part of the visitor experience," said managing director of arenas for The NEC Group Phil Mead. "The living wall is one of many things about the LG Arena that we are confident will give visitors that wow moment."
The space will now be closed off to the public until work is complete on the rest of the arena.
Once finished, it is thought the capacity of the venue will increase by 2,000.
