LONDON - Roadside restaurant The Little Chef has been listed in The Good Food Guide following its successful campaign with celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal.

Last year, Blumenthal featured in a Channel 4 series where he tried to improve the chain's image.

The Little Chef, on the A303 in Popham, near Basingstoke, scored two out of 10 points in the industry guide, the same score as some good quality gastropubs.

It serves food including braised ox cheeks and Hereford steak and Abbot ale pie.

The menu also includes the ‘Olympic' breakfast of free-range eggs, outdoor-bred British pork sausages and Wiltshire-cured back bacon.

Blumenthal owns Michelin-starred restaurant the Fat Duck, in Berkshire.
