LG Electronics hires Kodu to Avatar campaign

LONDON - LG Electronics UK has hired digital agency Kodu to develop and launch a multi-media campaign for its partnership with Twentieth Century Fox and its upcoming film Avatar.

Avatar, directed by James Cameron, fuses real-life cinematography with CGI.

The campaign will feature the new LG Chocolate BL40 and BL20 handsets and will use augmented reality through press and magazine advertising. The agency picked up the business following a three-way pitch.

Activity will also include online advertising, digital outdoor and social media. Online activity will also include site take-overs and ad personalisation.

The digial outdoor activity incorporates infrared technology which will activate the creative to engage with the passers by.

Avatar launches in the UK on 17 December.
