Less then half of the 30 miles of Games Lanes have been in use since they came into operation on 25 July. The lanes caused controversy when

Games Lanes are part of the Olympic Route Network (ORN) a 109-mile network of roads which has been altered to improve Olympic traffic.

TfL also announced several alterations to the ORN to relax restrictions at some locations, such as the reintroduction of turnings which had been restricted. The ORN will be removed from Olympic venues as soon as they stop hosting sports events.

Today is expected to be the busiest day so far for the Olympic Park, with more than 200,000 spectators and accredited workers travelling to Stratford.

Leon Daniels, managing director of surface transport for TfL said: "We remain committed to keeping disruption to an absolute minimum and we continue to review and amend traffic restrictions whenever possible – to reduce the impact on road users. More alterations will follow as venues cease operation, and we’ll continue to keep Londoners and businesses, including freight, taxi and private hire drivers informed."
