The appointment comes after a four-way pitch, handled by AAR. It will see Leagas Delaney handling a European project for the brand, which it will run from its offices in London, Hamburg and Milan.
Sarah West, head of corporate marketing in the EMEA region for BlackBerry, said: "Over the course of the pitch process, Leagas Delaney consistently demonstrated a strong understanding of our business, sound strategic thinking and compelling creative work."
BlackBerry is owned by Canadian company Research In Motion, and counts some 3m users enamoured by its ability to deliver their emails while they are on the move.
Tim Delaney, chairman of Leagas Delaney, said: "BlackBerry is an incredibly dynamic brand poised to enter the next important phase of its development. We are looking forward to working with the BlackBerry team and helping to take the brand into Europe."
Other recent wins for Leagas Delaney include the Platinum Guild International, which appointed it as its first ad agency in July this year. Last week, the agency revealed it had hired Leo Burnett veteran Elliot Moss as managing director of its London office.
