The company is now in the early stages of a review to find a replacement and has approached a number of agencies, but a pitchlist has not yet been announced.
Following a pitch against four other agencies Leagas Delaney picked up the business in February 2004 after the incumbent agency, Mitchell Patterson Grime Mitchell, ceased trading.
Along with these changes, the company also appointed a new UK marketing director, Chris Rigby, a former marketer from Diageo. It was Rigby's task to undertake the overhaul of the products' re-branding in a bid to make them stand out on supermarket shelves.
The agency review comes as a high-profile TV campaign starring Stephen Fry, created by Leagas Delaney, is on the air. The campaign supports the re-branding of Twinings' product portfolio including its new packaging, new flavours of tea and a re-launched iced tea range, which is now available in bottles.
