In the final programme of BBC One's genealogy series Llewelyn-Bowen traced a grandfather who survived his ship being sunk by U-boat in the First World War and followed the mysterious trail of a wealthy ancestor.
It netted 5m viewers (21.1%) beating the second episode of ITV1's murder mystery 'Place of Execution', starring Juliet Stevenson, which pulled in 4.5m and a 19.2% share of the 9pm-10pm audience.
The third part of BBC Two's documentary 'Amazon with Bruce Parry', in which Parry visited the troubled Matis tribe and spent time with a group of loggers destroying the forest, attracted 2.6m viewers and a 10.9% share of the 9pm to 10pm audience.
A repeat of 'The Secret Millionaire', featuring curry house king Charan Gill, drew 2.3m viewers (9.7%) to Channel 4. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 2.5m viewers.
Ashton Kutcher comedy movie 'Dude, Where's My Car?' pulled in 992,000 viewers on Five and a 4.7% share of the 9pm-10.45pm audience.
