ITV's 'Natural Born Sellers' fails to deliver

LONDON - BBC One's pathologist drama 'Silent Witness' won last night's primetime slot, pulling in 5.4m viewers, while ITV1's 'Natural Born Sellers', its version of 'The Apprentice', failed to excite viewers.

The second instalment of a 'Silent Witness' two-part special captured a 24.5% share of the audience between 9pm and 10pm, according to unofficial overnight figures.

ITV1's 'Natural Born Sellers', which has been described as a poor man's version of 'The Apprentice', drew 1.7m viewers and a 7.7% share of the audience between 9pm and 10pm.

The new series of comedy pop quiz 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' returned on BBC Two, with 2.2m viewers and a 9.8% share of the audience between 9pm and 9.30pm.

Channel 4 documentary 'Dana: The 8 Year Old Anorexic' had 1.7m viewers and a 7.7% share of the audience in the 9-10pm slot. Including viewers on Channel 4+1, it was watched by 1.9m viewers and an 8.7% share of the audience.

Five aired live coverage of UEFA Cup football involving Premier League teams throughout the night.

Everton's 2-1 defeat to Belgium side Standard Liege netted 1.4m viewers and a 6.9% share of the audience between 6.30pm and 930pm.

Portsmouth's 2-2 draw with Portuguese team Guimaraes pulled in 1.5m viewers and an 11.5% share between 9.30pm and 12.05pm.
