The structure may not be up yet, but that didn't stop guests flocking to the Tower of London on Tuesday evening (22 March) to celebrate its launch.

The Ultimate Experience threw a lavish party, with a private viewing of the Crown Jewels, followed by a drinks and canapé reception by Create Food and Party Design in the New Armouries.

Historic Royal Palaces has awarded The Ultimate Experience a six-year contract, to provide a temporary structure in the Tower of London Moat for summer and winter parties until 2017.

The 700-seater structure has been designed to blend in with the surroundings of the landmark attraction.

Several key events, including two award ceremonies, have already been contracted in for the 2011 summer season, which runs from 1 June to 8 July.

The Pavilion will again open its doors from 16 November to 23 December for ‘Bejewelled’ themed Christmas parties.

The contact excludes Summer 2012, where Historic Royal Palaces are still considering a range of event opportunities at the City's most iconic visitor attraction and special events venue.
