Slingbox is being marketed as a "place-shifting" TV product, allowing viewers to redirect programmes from their home TV-set to a PC or mobile anywhere in the world, via a set-top box and broadband connection.
The product was launched in the UK by Sling Media in May 2006 and is available in retailers including PC World and Currys.
The campaign is due to launch this month and will include radio and online activity. Slingbox is yet to confirm the appointment of a media buying agency.
Stuart Collingwood, Sling Media's vice-president for Europe, said: "UK consumers are already becoming increasingly accustomed to using 'time-shifting' technology to manage their TV viewing with PVR systems. Slingbox's 'place-shifting' approach to television is the obvious next step for TV viewing in the future."
Marc Nohr, Kitcatt Nohr managing partner, said: "Our chief creative challenge is to simplify and magnify its benefits and make it relevant to people’s own lifestyles. We believe this product will change the way people watch TV just as PVRs have."
