JWT Canada and White Ribbon take over social media profiles for UN campaign
When Brock Turner’s was convicted of sexual assault in 2015, his father pleaded for leniency, dismissing the attack as "20 minutes of action." Now the infamous phrase is being used for good. Nov. 25 is the United Nations’ International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women, and the 20minutesofaction4change campaign is encouraging supporters to donate their social media profile or home page to the cause for 20 minutes. Fathers can also sign up to talk to their sons for 20 minutes about informed consent. The campaign is a joint project of the nonprofit White Ribbon and JWT Canada. Companies like Google, Home Depot, LinkedIn, Yahoo Sports, have already pledged their pages.
