Karmarama has created a campaign for the safe motherhood charity White Ribbon Alliance, to urge African leaders to invest in healthcare for women.
The campaign features photography by Rankin and shows a pregnant African with the line: "The future of Africa is carried in the bellies of its mothers" encircling her stomach.
The campaign is tied to the Uganda-hosted 15th African Union Summit in which leaders will discuss how to achieve the Millennium Development Goals on maternal health. The ad will run in print and outdoor across Africa, at the summit and in London.
