John Lewis to sell Future subscriptions

Johnlewis.com, the online sales arm of John Lewis department stores, has launched a magazine subscription service in conjunction with Future Publishing.

Visitors to johnlewis.com will be able to subscribe to Future Publishing titles such as T3, Total Film, Digital Camera Magazine and Official PlayStation 2 Magazine online.

A special icon on the store's homepage will take users to a listing of available magazines, which they click on to subscribe to and enter their contact and payment details.

Payment and customer service will be handled by Future Publishing while johnlewis.com will offer a new channel for Future to market its magazines.

Matt Bradbeer, manager of technology assortment at John Lewis Direct, said: "The new service offers an added dimension to our product offering."

Fiona Penton-Voak, subscriptions product manager at Future Publishing, commented: "We are expanding our reach to attract new readers."
