LONDON - John Lewis has recorded huge growth in sales of clothing ranges since it re-launched its website last month.

The retailer had set itself a target of £8.5m in additional sales and was hoping to reach its target by the end of January. It now predicts this target will be reached by early December based on the uplift in sales already shown.

has said its clothing sales are around three times as high as last year. Women's clothing sales specifically are around five times higher.

The website features brands including Paul & Joe Sister, Tara Jarmon and Rene Derhy.

The retailer is also considering introducing some online only ranges to its website.
