Nikon is running bespoke ads on the photography area on the site which offers photography tips for adventurers, and links to Nikon's European website, while camera retailer Jessops is planning an online ad presence on the Big Earth site.
Big Earth has appointed TradeDoubler, the digital performance marketing company, and search specialists, The Search Works, to monetise display and affiliate inventory, and drive search optimisation. The deal will see TradeDoubler and The Search Works build a digital marketing programme to support the full launch of the site in April.
Created by the team behind Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's Long Way Round and Long Way Down, www.bigearth.co.uk, aims to inspire thrill-seekers to plan independent travel or once-in-a-lifetime adventures with photos, videos and travel advice.
Big Earth will initially launch in the UK with a global roll-out intended for late 2009.
