Stacey Knight, currently group head of sales at the Fox-owned men's lifestyle website IGN, has been appointed to the position of head of digital at JCDecaux, while group business director David Lambert has been promoted to director of agency and specialist sales.

Carolan will be charged with working with the rest of the JCDecaux team to augment and improve JCDecaux’s offer to brands and agencies. He will report to Spencer Berwin, managing director of sales.

Carolan will join the sales management board alongside Berwin, Lambert, business directors Glenn Iceton and Dallas Wiles, director of trading Daemon Brown, and Mark Bucknell, who was promoted to director of product planning earlier this month.

At Absolute Radio from September 2010, Carolan was responsible for on-air, online and internet and event-based sales. Before joining Absolute, he was head of agency and client sales at Microsoft Advertising until the end of 2009.

Carolan has spent more than 15 years in the media industry, and has worked at BBC Worldwide, TalkSport, Classic and Capital FM (which are now owned by Global Radio), and CBS Outdoor.

In her new role, Knight will be responsible for developing dialogue with digital agencies, both media and creative, and she will work alongside James Power, head of Idea (an acronym of innovation, digital and experiential activation).

Knight has been at IGN as group head of sales since June 2008. In addition to previous outdoor experience as an account director at CBS Outdoor, she has also worked in print at Mirror Group Newspapers and IPC Media.

Berwin said: "Paul and Stacey's experience adds another dimension to the skill set at JCDecaux, as we approach the Olympics and beyond. As the market leaders, it is important that JCDecaux continues to invest in our people and our products to keep our clients at the forefront of media innovation."

As part of the changes, JCDecaux has also promoted senior business development managers Matt Leggett and Jim Cohen to the positions of head of retail and head of rail respectively, following the investment in the outdoor group's rail and retail portfolios.

A spokesman said Carolan's departure from Absolute Radio was not related to the ongoing review of the business being conducted for Absolute Radio’s parent company Bennett Coleman, by investment bank Jefferies.
