Smyth joins on 22 August and will take responsibility for sponsorship and commercial partnerships across the Absolute Radio network and will report to branded content director Louise Simkins.
Smyth’s appointment follows the promotion of head of agency sales Remy Kirk to the position of advertising director, ahead of the imminent departure of Paul Carolan to outdoor media owner JCDecaux.
In her new role Smyth will work alongside Simkins and Kirk as well as head of promotions Katherine Knapp, head of business development Tracy Stanton, head of digital sales James Wigley and Kirk's replacement as head of agency sales.
Prior to joining We7 in 2010 Smyth was a promotions and account manager at Absolute Radio. Smyth joined Absolute Radio's predecessor Virgin Radio from Emap, now Bauer Media, in September 2005.
Smyth began her media career at ITV as a sales assistant in July 2002 before moving to Emap as an agency sales assistant in April 2003. She was then promoted to sponsorship and promotions account handler in September 2004.
Simkins said: "Emma is award-winning, with a wealth of experience, impressive thinking and a defined strategy for Absolute Radio’s Sponsorship proposition. Her vision will compliment the strong team we have in place here at Absolute Radio."
Last month Absolute Radio announced it had signed up RAC, Sky Sports, Screwfix and Seat to sponsor major propositions across the station’s schedule in deals Absolute Radio said were worth in excess of £1m in revenue.
Moore left Absolute Radio in June to travel.
