Weston, who has spent a combined eleven and a half years at JCDecaux and its predecessors Titan Outdoor and Maiden Outdoor, expects to return to the media industry later this year.
In June 2010 Weston was appointed to the role of national sales director of JCDecaux after the integration of Titan Outdoor's UK assets, which JCDecaux bought in January 2010, and following the departure of Jamie Lindsay.
Weston was responsible for leading JCDecaux's five product teams – roadside, rail, premier, retail and idea (an acronym of innovation, digital and experiential activation).
Weston reported to Spencer Berwin, managing director of sales at JCDecaux.
Berwin said: "Ged has been a phenomenal help over the past 16 months, when we took over Titan he was immediately helpful to me and the business.
"I am very grateful for all he has done to help and assist me and the JCDecaux team. This is something we have discussed for some time, it’s his decision and I am sorry to see him go. I wish him all the best."
Prior to being promoted to national sales director at Titan Outdoor in October 2008, following the departure of Stephen Dunn, Weston was director of specialist sales from March 2007.
At Titan's predecessor Maiden Outdoor Weston was head of trading from 2005.
Weston started his career as a sales executive in the business division of Haymarket Media Group, the owner of MediaWeek.co.uk, in 1997.
