ITV1 wins ratings game with England vs Egypt

LONDON - ITV1 was the ratings champion last night as the England game against Egypt at Wembley pulled in 7.7 million viewers.

The football match, which saw England beat the African side 3-1, gave ITV an impressive 31.5% share of the peaktime audience.

BBC One's drama series 'Five Days', which aired at 9-10pm, continued to perform well, but its clash with the England game brought its ratings down a little to 5.9 million viewers and a 22.8% share.

Channel 4’s peaktime offering, 'Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA', drew 1.5 million, while Five’s latest instalment of 'NCIS' attracted 1.9 million viewers, with a 7.4% share.

The romantic drama 'Becoming Jane', starring Anne Hathaway, pulled in 1.3 million for BBC Two, giving it a 5% share.
