BBC One tops ratings with 4.1 million viewers for New Tricks

LONDON - BBC One lead the primetime ratings last night with its police drama 'New Tricks' attracting 4.1 million viewers, just beating rival ITV1's 'Married Single Other'.

The series, in which Dennis Waterman and Amanda Redman star as part of a team of crack detectives, earned a 16.6% share for BBC One.

ITV romantic comedy drama 'Married Single Other' attracted 3.9 million viewers and a 15.8% share.

Channel 4 aired the latest instalment in reality series 'The Secret Millionaire' in the same 9pm-10pm slot, drawing 2.5 million viewers (including the contribution from Channel 4 +1).

BBC Two show 'A Band For Britain', in which presenter Sue Perkins overhauls a brass band, pulled in 1.6 million viewers, while Five aired the classic Western 'The Good The Bad and The Ugly', which was watched by an audience of 1.2 million.
