ITV1 wins 9pm slot with 3.9m viewers for scams documentary

LONDON - 'Fiddles, Cheats and Scams' attracted 3.9m viewers on ITV1 last night beating Channel 4's 'Big Brother', according to unofficial overnight figures.

Last night's episode of 'Fiddles, Cheats and Scams' attracted a 17.7% share of the 9pm-10pm audience to win the primetime slot.

Viewers tuned in to see reports on a boxer who fought 100 fights while claiming for incapacity, and a 30-year-old who claimed benefits for 36 children who never existed.

Channel 4's 'Big Brother' came in second with 3.3m viewers (14.8%) tuning in to see the housemates perform a rap task. It was the last episode before tonight's final, in which either Sarah, Rachel, Mikey, Darnell and Rex will be crowned the winner.

Including Channel 4+1 ratings it reached 3.5m viewers and a 15.9% share.

The final episode in BBC One's 'SuperDoctors' series, which followed the work of orthopaedic surgeon Steve Mannion, who has devoted his life to working in underdeveloped countries, attracted 2.7m viewers and a 12.6% share of the 9pm to 10pm audience.

The news based panel show 'Mock the Week', hosted by Dara O'Briain, netted 2.9m viewers and a 12.9% share of the 9pm-9.30pm audience for BBC Two.

It was followed by comedy series 'The Cup', which pulled in 1.2m viewers and 5.4% share of the 9.30pm-10pm audience for BBC Two.

Five's airing of action movie 'Out of Reach', starring Steven Seagal as a retired government agent, netted 1.4m viewers and a 7% share of the 9pm-10.45pm audience.
