ITV1 has bought 30 60-minute episodes of 'The Great Pretender', which will air on weekdays. Although specific scheduling details will not be disclosed for another fortnight, the programme is expected to air from next month in a scheduling slot that competes with the Noel Edmonds comeback show 'Deal or No Deal', which runs weekdays between 4.15pm and 5.00pm.
Tarrant said: "This is a fantastic format, both exciting and challenging for contestants and audiences alike. I am sure it will capture the public imagination."
'The Great Pretender' is RDF's first long-running quiz show commission. It has been created by a team led by Lynn Sutcliffe, who previously co-devised shows including Anne Robinson's 'The Weakest Link'.
The executive producers are Grant Mansfield, managing director of RDF Television, and Peter Usher, executive producer of entertainment for RDF.
RDF Rights, part of RDF Media Group, is launching the show today at Mipcom 2007.
In July, ITV aid it would not commission any new shows from the production company until the investigation had concluded into the faked Queen trailer that RDF Media produced for the BBC.
