ITN unveils free content on iTunes

LONDON - ITN is to allow portable video player users free access to its bespoke mobile news and entertainment content, funded by pre-roll advertising.

Customers will be to download ITN's latest news and entertainment programming from Apple's iTunes store. BMW has been signed up as the first advertising partner. The advertising service is provided by Ad Infuse who have the technology to wrap advertisements around the programmes and deliver them to iTunes.

The iTunes store will also feature Movie Buff, ITN's cinema guide; Sports Fix, its weekly sports news bulletin and EPL, its daily football show.

Nicholas Wheeler, managing director of ITN's multimedia division, ITN On said: "ITN On see Ad infuse as a key partner for making our news, entertainment and sports content available to end users on mobile devices. This partnership will engage more users with our content and extend our brand's reputation as a provider of high quality video journalism on new media platforms."

ITN also launched an ITN channel on YouTube this week. The channel will focus on entertainment, but will include sports, film and Bollywood programmes made specifically for online platforms. Content available on the channel will include Bollywood Insider, the weekly Bollywood programmes; EPL and Sports Fix.
