The news comes amid reports that the company is about to announce a series of cost cuts after it had to shave £10m off its bid to hold onto the contract to supply news to the ITV network.
As a result, ITN is trimming its programming budget and staff are said to be bracing themselves for a raft of job cuts. An announcement is expected in the first two weeks of November.
ITN will continue to provide an online news feed on the ITV.com site, but news has been dropped from its own site.
A statement on ITN.co.uk says, "Recent changes at ITN have meant that the expertise developed in delivering the website is now being diverted to support ITN in terms of both our core terrestrial news contracts (ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5), but also to provide a direct news supply service to other contracted third parties."
ITN is currently in advanced negotiations with ITV about the terms of the news contract after beating BSkyB-backed Channel 3 News to the preferred bidder status, which sees it enter into exclusive talks with the broadcaster.
