IPT in newspaper drive

IPT is running its first venture with News International since buying The Preference Service last month.

A total of nine million branded paper surveys will appear in The Sun, The News of the World and The Sunday Times.

The questions, tailored for the various titles, ask readers their opinions of the newspapers and whether they get them delivered.

The exercise will help News International better target its reader offers. Along with the title-specific questions, there are others on subjects relevant to each paper's range of partners, such as mortgage firms.

The Preference Service has been running reader surveys for News International for the past year and a half but this is the first work carried out under IPT

The surveys are paper-based at present, with respondents asked to return them by post, but this is expected to change in the future.
