The second unit, based in Lowestoft, has been developed to cope with increasing demand for the international group's computer assisted telephone interviewing (CATI).
The move will result in cross-monitoring between the Suffolk-based unit and an existing centre in Harrow, North London.
With nearly 400,000 CATI interviews conducted by the group in 2004, the new unit is expected to cater for further predicted growth and support the Harrow centre.
The centre will focus on work for the government, public policy and opinion research sectors carried out for clients by Ipsos UK's International Public Affairs unit.
Ipsos UK has already appointed 50 staff to the telephone centre, with an extra 50 expected to join in the summer. The group is also in the process of recruiting a telephone centre manager.
The new location has been chosen through consultations with local job centres and local residents. It was also chosen after meetings with the local regional development agency and analysis of response rates from jobs ads placed in local papers across the different locations.
Robert Kirby, managing director of Ipsos International CatiCentre, said: "Demand for CATI continued to grow unabated last year, and we expect this to continue in 2005. CATI represents a significant income stream for us and we needed additional resources to support this."
