IPC Ignite appoints Smith to forge partnership deals

LONDON - IPC Ignite!, the men's and music arm of IPC Media, has appointed Victoria Smith to the newly created role of cross-media solutions manager to develop partner relationships.

Smith's remit will involve driving forward media owner partnerships with relevant Ignite! brands such as Loaded, Uncut, NME and Nuts.

Prior to joining Ignite!, Smith was key accounts group manager at Australian publisher ACP. Prior to that she worked as group account manager at Virgin Radio and was part of the launch sales team at Five. She has also worked at media agency CIA.

Smith will report directly to Karl Marsden, group ad director for Ignite!. "Victoria's objective is to seek out other like-minded media owners who feel that in certain instances there are benefits to be delivered to advertising clients if we work together," Marsden said.

IPC Ignite! unveiled a restructuring of its sales teams in October 2003 that saw the previously magazine-specific teams split into two new sales groups: consumer and music.
