International growth at Abacus prompts appointments

LONDON - Abacus has made several appointments at its London office and Dublin data centre as a result of the company's increasing international expansion.

Nick Banbury has been promoted to the newly created role of international product manager. He will be responsible for reviewing the current Abacus product offerings and implementing new solutions across the UK, Germany, France, Japan and Australia.

Danny Spencer has been hired from Abacus in the US, where he spent four years, to another newly created role as international operations analyst. He will be responsible for the operation, modelling and analysis of data across the international arena.

David Morton, who has 11 years experience in the data industry, joins Abacus as client acquisition manager and is tasked with the recruiting new members for the business-to-consumer alliance.

Kevin Jordan, who brings six years of experience in the direct marketing industry, comes on board as client acquisition manager for the newly launched Abacus business-to-business alliance.

Keith Jones, European managing director of Abacus, said: "I'm happy to say that all our international operations are growing rapidly. To accompany this growth we need the right people."

In the UK, the Abacus's B2C alliance is the largest mail order data cooperative in the country, comprising approximately 420 participants and a database of about 18m households.

Abacus, which is the data and research division of internet ad firm DoubleClick, has also recently pioneered the B2B alliance concept in the UK.
