Speaking yesterday (25 Feb) at a London preview for the 61-day festival taking place in June and July next year, Kimble revealed seven events have been secured.
These include the International Trade Awards, a Global Mayor’s Summit, an entrepreneurs festival, The Album Cover Art Show and a series of business breakfasts hosted by networking organisation Like Minds.
The International Festival for Business 2014 aims to bring hundreds of events of all sizes to the region and act as a global showcase of business.
Liverpool Vision awarded Clarion the IFB2014 event partner contract in January and the organiser subsequently joined forces with Montgomery to run the festival.
The region is expected to benefit to the tune of £100m from inward investment and attract an additional 250,000 visitors.
Speaking at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Kimble said: "As event partners for the festival, our footprint is very much global. We are talking to event organisers from our offices around the world to ensure that this is a festival that’s inclusive and great for Britain. We’ll be corralling events from these countries to come to Liverpool and hopefully we’ll also inspire the UK events industry to bring events to Liverpool in the summer of 2013."
Kimble also spoke of a plan to introduce a hosted visitor programme to the festival and paid tribute to the diverse range of events venues available in the region. "There’s a lot of work to do but the momentum is lifting and we’re very excited about the opportunities that exist for event planners everywhere," he said.
