Interactive agency Syzygy acquires Unique Digital

LONDON - Interactive agency Syzygy, which is part-owned by WPP, has bought online media planning and buying agency Unique Digital as part of a company growth strategy.

Syzygy has bought 100% of the shares of Unique for an undisclosed sum. Unique specialises in search engine marketing, affiliate marketing and online advertising and joins German online media agency GFEH, bought by Syzygy in December 2006, to form the Syzygy Group.

Andy Stevens, co-founder and managing director of Unique, said: "We're very excited to become part of Syzygy Group and believe wholeheartedly in their strategy for the future. This will allow us to offer our clients the best combination of online marketing, media and interactive solutions."

Marco Seiler, director of the management board at Syzygy, said: "Unique is one of the most successful in its field, with an enviable client list and industry recognition at several awards. With this acquisition Syzygy Group now offers an extensive portfolio of services to leading blue chips in Europe's two largest internet markets."

Unique's clients include Barclaycard, Avis Europe and Sainsbury's.

This adds to Syzygy's current client list, which includes Mazda Motors Europe, O2, DaimlerChrysler, Siemens, Channel 4 Television, Deutsche Bank, Essent Trading, Fujitsu Siemens and London 2012.
