Incepta Online will be responsible for fuelling adoption of the 'Megaman' character across Europe.
The project will bring together three of Incepta's agencies in JKD, Tangozebra and Digital Marketing Direct, which will each apply their expertise in the areas of web design and development, online advertising and online direct marketing respectively.
Incepta said the combination of the three agencies will provide Capcom Europe with a unified and integrated approach to its online communications.
The new site, which was launched last week and already claims more than 1,500 registered users, is aimed at players between the ages of eight and 12 years old.
The site carries character information, free downloads, interactive clubs and helpful hints about the game.
Capcom, creator of blockbuster games including 'Resident Evil' and 'Street Fighter', develops games for players of all ages and wanted to drive interest in its Megaman character in Europe after witnessing the enormous popularity of the 'Megaman' cartoon in the US and Japan.
The cartoon, which is due to be launched early next year in Europe, follows the launch of 'Megaman Battle Network 3' for GameBoy Advance and 'Megaman Network Transmission' for GameCube in July 2003.
David Miller, marketing director of Capcom Europe, said: "Capcom selected Incepta Online from a pitch-list of three highly rated agencies. Its creativity, technical expertise, knowledge of the space and excellent service has played an important role in the launch of the Megaman brand in Europe. In short, it provided me with a one-stop shop for all my online needs."
Prior to the October 2003 launch of 'Megaman X7', which has been adapted for PlayStation2, Incepta Online will be applying an integrated online marketing strategy to increase visibility and interest in the character.
"We are pleased to be working with such a highly respected name in the interactive entertainment industry," Phil Eames, managing director of Incepta Online, said. "It has provided us with the opportunity to bring several of our highly specialised business units together to offer an integrated marketing service."
