
Minogue has been appointed creative ambassador for the event on 31 December, which is televised to 1.1 billion viewers worldwide each year.
The singer will collaborate with Imagination's Austrailian office to establish the creative framework that will underpin the show’s design and branding. She will work on the theme, logo, the colours and shapes in the firework display, the soundtrack which is played at midnight and the special effects on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Minogue, who is in Australia to celebrate her 25 years in the music industry and her ‘Anti Tour’ concerts, said the partnership was a "fairy tale".
Imagination has been and brought in Australian designer Marc Newson as artistic director for the 2011 display.
Heath Campanaro, general manager of Imagination Australia, said: "We know Kylie will inject her own special brand of sparkle to Sydney, the New Year’s Eve Capital of the World. The event brings to the table all her many talents as a singer, performer and designer."

We are delighted that the Australian office get to collaborate with such a fantastic performer on the 2012 event and we have no doubt that Kylie will bring her own distinctive style and magic to the show."
