The University of Bath picked up the postgraduate prize, while Northumbria University won the undergraduate competition, which includes 拢1,200 to share and work to feature in a future issue of Marketing Direct.
The winning teams were William Webb, Ivan Ivanovic, Capucine Kohler and Aikaterini Strousopoulou from Bath, and Joanne Coxon, Krystina Arnold, Lynsey Attwood and Ruheena Ayub from Northumbria.
This year's competition sponsors were Nestle Purina Petcare and KLP Euro RSCG. The IDM is now searching for a 2005 sponsor.
Michael Elkington, marketing manager of Nestle Purina Petcare, said: "All the entries were of an excellent standard. The team from the University of Bath's entry was well-structured and bang on brief. The University of Northumbria team demonstrated a real understanding of the petfood market, put together a very credible marketing strategy in many aspects and really challenged the brief."
