IDM appoints new chairman for its education trust

LONDON – The Institute of Direct Marketing has appointed Barrie Spelling, former president of global oral care at Colgate Palmolive, as chairman of its education trust.

Spelling has just taken up the role at the trust, which has overseen the use of IDM's education modules in 71 UK universities.

"After many years of working with this fine institution I am very happy and honoured to take on these additional responsibilities," Spelling, who replaces David Payne, said.

IDM managing director Professor Derek Holder added: "With Barrie's experience we will be able to expand the role and remit of our educational crusade in the UK and hopefully convince more companies to support the cause."
