I-level wins £5m online media account for the AA

LONDON - The AA has appointed i-level to handle its digital media planning and buying account, estimated to be worth £5m, after a competitive pitch.

The account was previously held by Manning Gottlieb OMD, which also handled traditional media but lost the work after a review began in December last year. That account was won by PHD.

The new online advertising campaign breaks on June 1, using the 'You've got AA friend' strapline developed by DLKW and drawing from the creative used in the television campaign.

I-level's brief is to continue to grow and improve the role and return on its investment in digital marketing for the AA's three core businesses -- Roadside Recovery, Insurance and Loans.

Ed Ling, strategic development director at i-level, said: "Online already represents a significant channel to market for the AA, and we're delighted to have the opportunity to work with it to build upon this and help take it to the next level."

It is the latest in a number of account wins for i-level, which has also picked up the Orange and BSkyB accounts, and a place on the BBC digital roster over the past month.
