Huggy Bear finally gets I'm a Celebrity marching orders

LONDON – 'Starsky & Hutch' star Antonio Fargas was finally given his marching orders from 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' last night after being up for the boot three times.

Fargas, competing under the name of his 'Starsky & Hutch' character Huggy Bear, was the bookies' favourite to get voted off last night and has been in the bottom two of the voting for the past three days.

The 58-year-old actor got very emotional during his eviction interview with Ant and Dec, after seeing footage of his fellow campmates praising him.

Three Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson called him her "soul mate" and "a wise man" while all the other jungle mates had favourable comments to make about the star.

He was overwhelmed by it all and when Ant and Dec asked if he was going to miss anyone. He said, "Hell yeah, look at this!" and pointed to tears rolling down his cheeks.

Meanwhile nightclub owner Fran Cosgrove was up for last night's Bushtucker trial "Slither River", which involved swimming in water infested with snakes, eels and three crocodiles while having to release underwater buoys.

He collected three out of a possible six meals after shouting the words, "I'm a celebrity... get me out of here" when he found a snake coiled round the fourth buoy. He later blamed not completing the challenge on hitting his head. Cosgrove is now looking likely to be the next celebrity to go home.

Squeaky-voiced Joe Pasquale is still the hot favourite to win the show, but in a surprise move, Paul Burrell has now moved in to second favourite position, according to William Hill. When the show began he was the favourite to be booted out first.

Yesterday, it was revealed that ITV's current run of 'I'm a Celebrity', starring Burrell, mouthy Janet Street-Porter and model Sophie Anderton, is not proving as popular as the last series, which starred John Lydon and Jordan, dropping 2m viewers.

So far this series, 'I'm a Celebrity' has averaged 8.2m viewers and a 35% audience share, with no single episode managing to cross the 10m-viewer mark. Last year at this stage, the show averaged 10.5m and a 41% share.
