Huawei seeks shop for digital activity in Europe

Europe is seen as a key growth market for the company, which is now looking for additional digital capabilities to support its marketing activity in the region.

Isobar handles Huawei’s global digital marketing out of London and Shanghai.

It is understood that agencies were contacted last week. Meetings are due to take place later this month with Sam Sunyan, Huawei’s head of digital, who is travelling to London from the company’s headquarters in Shenzhen.

Last month, Huawei’s smartphone, mobile broadband and home devices division contacted London shops for credentials ahead of a possible pitch for its global creative business. The account is currently held by WPP’s TeamHQ.

Huawei appointed Dare as its UK creative agency last year after a pitch. OMD UK handles UK media strategy, planning and buying.
