The HTC One Skatepark will run for four weeks at London’s Old Selfridges Hotel from 27 March and forms part of a promotional event for retailer Selfridges and its 'Board Games' campaign which aims to celebrate the worlds of surf and skate.
It will be available for free for seven days a week to the general public, and will feature two distinctive skate areas, plus a spectator area. Measuring more than 1,700sqm, the bespoke skate park will cater for all levels of ability and one lesson will be available per person for anyone aged eight years old or older.
SSG Create and Prime and Fire have worked with designers Brinkworth and park builders FourOneFour to create the pop-up skate park. The outer area is inspired by the streets of London with iconic London skate spots, including the Big Ben road gap and Moorgate handrail.
The HTC One Skatepark’s inner section is a nod to the Selfridges shop floor with obstacles based on shoeboxes, magazines and baseball caps.
