LONDON - Honda is launching a cinema campaign to coincide with the release of James Cameron's Avatar, promoting its Civic model.

The advert was created using a layered camera effect and hopes to standout to viewers who are anticipating the new visual effects used in the film.

It uses 972 edits and layers up video images of cars, motorbikes, all-terrain vehicles, marine vehicles and Honda's humanoid robot, Asimo.  

The 60-second slot was created by the London-based agency Wieden+Kennedy. It will launch in cinemas from Thursday and run for six weeks. It will then be shown across TV channels from 18 January.

The ad is sound tracked with the song Atlas, by Battles.
