Help the Aged will use The Software Bureau's flagship product Cygnus to manage its data and drive down the cost of its donor recruitment and retention.
The charity joins mental health organisation Mind as one of The Software Bureau's key charity clients.
The Cygnus software incorporates a full range of data preparation techniques and a number of key suppression files, allowing users to clean, process and use their own data without the costly retainers charged by some operators.
David Murray, sales director at The Software Bureau, said: "Recent events have driven home the importance of impenetrable data security and it has risen up the agenda of the UK's largest organisations.
"Of course charities also have the added obligation of finding the most responsible operation costs."
Stephen Newberry, database marketing service manager at Help the Aged, said: "We are constantly looking for ways to ensure the maximum amount of supporter donations go to supporting disadvantaged older people.
"This solution was the best we came across in terms of keeping our data secure, retaining absolute control and ensuring we are recruiting and retaining donors in the most cost-effective way possible."
