
Horne joined NatMag, a Hearst subsidiary in the UK, in 2000 as group finance director, and was promoted to GM and finance director of the company in 2004
In that role, he worked with NatMag chief executives Duncan Edwards and Arnaud de Puyfontaine to manage growth and acquisitions strategy.
He helped create NatMag joint ventures including the former ACP-NatMag, a venture with Australian Consolidated Press for weekly titles Best, Reveal and Real People, and NatMag Rodale, a joint venture with Rodale International in the US.
One of Horne’s biggest tasks as he takes over his new role will be balancing Hearst’s books, after it completes .
He will also take responsibility for all financial and administrative aspects of Hearst’s international magazine business, and will work with Edwards on strategy and business development. He will remain based in London.

Previously, Horne worked for Harcourt Publishers International from 1997 to 2000, as senior vice-president, chief finance officer and finance director.
Prior to that, he served as vice-president, international controller at Times Mirror International Publishers.
Horne will begin his new responsibilities effective immediately, but will continue to act as CFO and GM of NatMag until a new appointment is made.
